Recovery story
We are very happy...
...... together with Shamah and her mum about the successful operation! In October 2023, Dr Charles Mvondo and his team replaced the defective aortic valve with a biological aortic valve. Shamah has recovered well from the operation.
Shamah and her mother can laugh again and are looking to the future with hope. Both of them would like to thank the mi-do donation community from the bottom of their hearts for their wonderful support!
The fundraiser for Chloè and Michel was so successful that there are enough funds to help Shamah too. In May 2022, Shamah was examined at the Cardiac Centre Shisong and diagnosed with a severe aortic valve defect that needs to be surgically corrected.
Shamah is a student and comes from a modest background. The main burden of supporting five children is borne by her mother, as the parents are separated. The income from the small farm can never cover the costs of a heart operation. Fortunately, there is the mi-do donation organisation, which of course covers the costs.
