Success story
Fatimatou and her family are glad and grateful that everything turned out to be well. Fatimatou had to stay long at the Cardiac Center Shisong. A full month has passed between preliminary examination, preparation for surgery, surgery and discharge. Dr. Charles Mvondo and the entire team have performed an excellent work. The operation was successful and Fatimatou is now looking with hope to the future.
Fatimatou and her family are grateful to the mi-do community for the generous support and they thank the Cardiac Center team for the professional and loving treatment!
Especially in the rural areas of Cameroon, people have learned to live with diseases like malaria.Thus unfortunately, symptoms like fatigue, cough and fever are often misinterpreted. Fatimatou has also be treated for malaria for a long time, but without success. It was only when Fatimatous heart deteriorated that she was sent to the Cardiac Centre Shisong for clarification. Dr. Jean-Claude Ambassa noted a severe mitral valve defect and urgently recommended an operative correction.
Fatimatou's parents, Riana and Ousseini, provide with their modest income for seven children. With all good will, to cover the cost of heart surgery is not possible for them. The parents will ask for support in the circle of the family and friends and think to be able to contribute 7,5% of the total costs.
