Albert, his parents and his brothers and sisters would never have dreamed of such a Christmas gift 2015. The operation performed by Dr. Charles Mvondo and his team was successful and Albert recovered quickly. Albert was able to make the long trip home to the Extreme North of Cameroon just befor Christmas time.
Albert and his family thank the community of MI-DO donors and the Friends of Franciscan Mission Outreach (USA) for this wonderful gift.
Qualified medical help is very rare in the extreme North of Cameroon. This is why Albert has been suffering for many years. He was treated a number of time, but always unsuccessfully. Fortunately, a doctor decided to send Albert to the Cardiac Centre Shisong. There, Dr. Jean-Claude Ambassa diagnosed a severe mitral insufficiency and recommended an urgent surgical procedure.
The parents are self-sufficient farmers with ten children at school and are thus absolutely unable to pay for the surgery. They can however contribute a small amount.
